Family Portrait

My husband bought this cheap dry erase board from the commissary (military grocery store) and La has fallen in love with it.

She'd rather draw on this than the Doodle Pads that I bought but whatever.

Anywhoo, tonight she decides to draw pictures of me, her dad and one of our dogs Princess.

This is what she sees when she looks at us:

For a bit of clarification the circles on the PILLSBURY DOUGH BOY are my breasts and the circle on his belly is my belly button. According to her I have a mustache and pretty hairy eyebrows.

Now if anyone can explain to me why I have more in common with the pudgy one and my husband looks so tiny next to me.

I even appear to be bigger than our dog who still hasn't gotten a haircut.

I feel like I need to go to the gym, get a breast reduction, and have some waxing done this weekend.

Looks like I'll be busier than I had expected.

Happy Friday!!

A Few Notes About Moving Offices

Ok, so working in the Pentagon means that there is always ongoing construction. This being said, today was MOVE DAY for my office from our rented space to our newly renovated space.

All week we had been preparing. I've been working 10-12 hours the past few days including tonight. I never want to be a part of an office move (or any move for that matter) again!

Here a few things you need to know about today:

-If the movers have to say "excuse me" more than a few times, you are probably in the way and should have kept your useless ass at home.

-If the furniture didn't belong to you in the old office, it is not and I repeat NOT up for grabs in the process of moving it. (Try to steal my shit again and there will be problems)

-Disappearing after 10am and never resurfacing when you knew the movers were coming at 11 is so. not. cool. SERIOUSLY!

-Waiting until the day...no, an hour before the move to finish packing is probably not really helpful. (I'm gonna need you work on that)

-Coming to the team in charge (included me and 3 other GREAT workers) and complaining about not having got your phone delivered in the new space while we are trying to get shit done is probably not safe. You might get hurt. I'm just sayin'.

-Walking past boxes lined in the hall to come and tell me about it instead of picking the shit up and moving it yourself is just f-ing lazy. Yeah I said it.

-Telling me at 6pm that you have to leave and take care of your kids when we have kids at home as well just might leave you on the other end of a serious eye roll. (I love how people think their lives are more important than others.)

-Stealing the movers to take care of your boss' office when he was supposed to do ours first is just evil. Don't even think about asking me for anything ever again, I know where your heart is!

Today was hell but I am thankful to those few co-workers of mine that worked their asses off with me today and I have tons of appreciation for them.

However, the one who broke wind right before we were leaving is going to be told if that happens again, I'm probably going to kick him in the back of the head...seriously I thought something had died.

Well, tomorrow is my first day in my new space and thing's should be G-R-E-A-T!!!

Later Gators!!

Desperate to Win

I am writing this post for no other reason than to try to win an adorable hat!

Lara at Overstuffed is having a wonderful giveaway! It is an Etsy hat and I MUST get it for my girl's noggin!

Go over there and enter the drawing...I hope I win and not you (I know, I'm evil), but if you do, be sure to take a photo of your cutie in it!

I'll be back later with a real post!

A Change is Coming

History has been made. I am blessed to have been a part of it. No matter how you voted, change is always good.
As an African American, as a member of the Armed Forces, as a strong female, I am happy to say..... God Bless America!!

Your Gonna Miss This...Moment #1

Yup I found another fun way to spice up my blog.

Pam is credited for this wonderful idea.

I'm gonna miss Lael being 4. I keep thinking every year is her best but she keeps proving me wrong. I will miss how she randomly falls asleep wherever. It's almost like her body knows she growing up and she is taking naps less and less. Oh how I will miss this......

Join in and post the moments you will miss.

Not Me Monday....1st Edition

Ok so, I've been blogging for a while now and have decided that it's time for me to venture out and try a few new things. Here's to you MckMama and your beautiful new addition!

If you want to give it a stab here are the rules. Let's be completely honest and post those great thing you did "not" do this week.

Ok here is my first ever "Not Me Monday" list:

*I did not forget La's field trip money, email her teacher that I would send it the next day but forgot to get out cash so I did not "borrow" some of her birthday money to send in. That would be irresponsible.

*I did not forget to charge my phone and ask a complete stranger to use theirs to call my husband to pick me up for the Metro station. Nope not me.

*I did not invite more people than I should have to Lael's party and secretly pray that they would all cancel at the last minute. That would be mean.

*I do not plan to take back one of La's presents to get a store gift card and get her the Tinkerbell movie instead since she already has the toy. How horrible would that be!

*I did not avoid working out for the last 2 weeks to read the Twilight Series. I would not neglect my health like that.

Not too exciting for my first time but not that I'm prepared I will be paying better attention to those things I don't do.

Now go ahead and post yours up so we can all enjoy each other's honesty!!

Dragons and Castles and Kids...Oh My!

Yesterday was Lael and Riley's 5th birthday party.

I can't begin to explain the fun we had yesterday. It was a whirlwind of excitement. I can't take too much credit for the work because my girl Dusty worked her hindpots off!
This is what she worked so hard for:

Are those not the coolest cakes EVER?? I know, she is so talented. That's why I keep her around. J/K!
There were about 30 kids there at one point! Here they are doing the Limbo!

And here the Balloon Hop....me and Dusty had at that too....not you will NOT see pictures of that!

Look how I got D up in the air. That girl has got some legs on her!

Then it was time to cut those beautiful cakes...they tasted as good as they looked.

Time for presents...this is when I realized just how many kids were there. I was afraid...I thought they were going to trample me.

It turned out to be a wonderful day and I am grateful to my Haskin's family for opening up their home and hearts. We love you guys and look forward to many more fun days!
Lael got everything she wanted and more. She got her Potty Girl and the Swimming Puppy and she was a happy baby (yes, she is still my baby).

Thanks to all who came to share the lives of our babies!!
