Being new to the blogging community is almost like being a High School transfer. All of the kids have known each other for a while and have there own cliques. I am currently the new kid that everyone is trying to get a feel for. I started this blog as a stress reliever and to record silly things my baby does.
I enjoy reading other blogs, especially other mommy blogs and reading funny stories and getting new tips and ideas. So I thought that maybe if everyone got to know me a little better they would leave me a few comments now and then and if I'm really lucky I could get a few followers. You? Come on, come on. (See I've been forced to beg)
OK, so here's a few thing you should know about me.
1. My name is Keyona and I turned 27 last week

10. I am a TV junkie and don't care to help it
11. I love running and am currently training to run my first half-marathon
12. I have a great sense of humor (at least I think so)
13. I don't have many friends but I think it's because I haven't met the right ones yet
14. I love taking photos and hope to take photography classes one day
15. I love this blogging thing and hope to get better and meet new people!
OK, so now that we are familiar let's be friends.

Weekend Ramblins' and Rock Concerts
I found this idea on another blog and thought it would be interesting to see my own outcome. You have to answer questions and google image search those answers and post the first image that comes up (hoping nothing perverted or sick pops up).
My middle name is: Rochelle

How old am I: 27

See, now wasn't that fun? Yeah? No? Oh well I liked it.
In other unrelated news. I went to my favorite store on earth Target and found a cool, new, full of awesomeness headband. Yup, only $4.99...I heart Tar-Jay. I figured I could rock a headband now that I am sporting a new look. To make it even better I had dinner at my girlfriends house so I didn't have to slave away at the microwave "making" dinner. Cool cool. I even got a yummy pina colada to top off the evening.
Happening as I type.... My hubby's friend calls the house and asks him to come over. My husband leaves out and comes back with a "toy" his friend got for La. Yeah. Apparently I've done something to piss him off because it's one of the Walmart brand organ/pianos that has no volume level and at 10pm at night it is just what she needed to give her that extra bit of energy.
I'll be plotting all night on ways to sabotage that toy. Jeez, a mother's work is never done.
Check out her jammin':

Motherhood
Heather of the EO put out a request for us mothers to list things that we are doing well.
While it's easy enough for me to talk about how much I do wrong as a mom, when asked to talk on the positive side, I feel a bit more challenged. Here my list:
1. I watch TV shows with La and actually enjoy them.
2. I never, ever put her to bed without a hug, kiss, and telling her I love her.

2. I never, ever put her to bed without a hug, kiss, and telling her I love her.
3. I take her to the park even when I am absolutely dredding the bad ass kids that will be there.
4. I save my leave days so that I can take off and chaperone field trips.
5. I make it a point to encourage her to love herself the way she is no matter if she's darker than the other kids or her hair is short and curly while theirs are straight and long.
6. I sneak away at times to give her special time with her daddy.
7. I go out of my way to let her play with my friends children so she doesn't get bored as an only child.
8. I try to let her speak to her grandmothers almost everyday so that she can have a bond with them.
9. I dedicate most of my time on the weekends to her because the weekdays can be hectic at times.
10. I sleep in the bed with her and stay on the couch with her all day when she isn't feeling well. And with that sickness I will also drive to the store and buy whatever food or drink that will make her eyes sparkle.

Oh how I wish I could take her sickness away....

A Letter To My Husband On His Birthday
Dear Husband,
Today is your birthday. The 9th one we have shared together.
You are now 33....damn you're getting old!
I love you now more than before and it continues to grow.
Don't get me wrong, you drive me absolute bonkers but that's nothing new.
You are 6 years older than me but you act like you are 10 years younger.
I love to see you with our little girl and you continue to grow as a wonderful father.
You won't share your food with me but will give our baby your last drop.
You have a good heart and have a strong passion for all animals.
You are afraid of bugs...more afraid than me and that makes me laugh.
You are the one person that can make me laugh no matter what.
I love you dearly and look forward to another year beside you.

Random thoughts on my birthday

I can't believe I'm 27 already.
I realized I have shared 9 birthdays with my husband...it makes me feel old.
I am not where I planned to be at this age (30 before 30 blog list soon to follow)
I AM ALMOST 30!!!
I've always loved birthdays. It's an excuse to party and have a selfish day.
My husband is not the "romantic" type so I don't expect much from him.
I have been trying to create a space for myself in the house but have been waiting for money to be right to purchase myself a futon and other room items to create a study/scrapbooking/leave-me-the-hell-alone room.
For the past few months it has been storage for seasonal clothes and boxes and for whatever I need to hide before company comes over.
I received the greatest present ever and not because of how much it cost but because of the thought and love that went into it.

I love my girlfriend for doing the cupcake thing and my other close friends for making me feel special.

Here's to a hopefully productive year.

Reading's not THAT important...is it??
I love my daughter. Really I do. I do however realize I have to patience for homework.
I'm afraid that I might even be so desperate not to deal with her that I will do it myself in my best Kindergarten handwriting.
I am sick of the tantrums when she doesn't understand why you can't hear the "e" and the end of words like come or some.
Why is it that she can recite every Spongebob episode that was ever made but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD can't remember that Cat starts with a C and not a K?
I have been practicing Lamaze breathing and putting myself in mental timeouts because I'm that close to strangling myself just so I don't have to go through this torture.
I may not make it. I am sweating just thinking about next weeks homework assignments.
