Magic

She hears a song and likes it.

For days she walks around singing it.

In the car, in the tub, on the toilet.

Her mom can't quite figure out where it's from or the name of it.

Who could it be that sings it?

Where in the world can I find it?

But then her mom finds it.

And when she gets home from school her mom has it ready.

With the push of a button, the music blasts through the speakers.

She comes around the corner running at full speed and jumps into her moms arms.

She grabs her mom by the hands and asks her to dance.

Something as simple as finding her new favorite song and making her a CD was enough to make her smile the whole night.

It felt like...magic....ya know?

  3. Aww, that is so totally sweet of you for taking time to find out and
    making a CD for her.

...and her grabbing you by the hand to dance? I love those instances when they are simply taken over by the joy of the moment that every little thing they do sings out their happiness. :)

  8. it's those magic moments that we sav up and gloat over later. We don't always have the time to put in the effort but when we do the payoff is more than enough

  12. That's good on you, Keyona!

However, am I the only one that's so old that I remember the ORIGINAL version of that song? Can't recall who sang it, but I remember it....going to search for my Geritol and my Depends undergarments now...

  13. What a great mom! This is something she is going to cherish for a long time.

TKW - I remember the original, too, by a "three" hit wonder band called Pilot. But I didn't remember that..I had to look it up on Wiki!
